When coal was delivered to houses in London, it was dropped down a coal hole in front of the house. London coal holes have beautiful covers on the street.

These are Graphite rubbings of 4 London coal hole covers. Each one is also marked with the number of the house it was in front of. Beautiful archival paper was used.
